~AudioSurfer~ is not affiliated with Ultimate-Guitar.com, but we definitely support them. Few people know of the troubles this website has undergone since it's creation. Countless lawsuits, threats, and attacks, to the point of almost being shut down completely. As a matter of fact, there were several periods of time where this website was down for days or even weeks at a time. Why? Because they have hundreds of thousands of guitar tabs. Some artists got upset (Or at least their labels did) because people should be buying tabs in booklets at the store, and paying more money on top of the money you already spent on the band's albums. The simple fact of the matter is, at the time, there was really nothing else going on with music, and Ultimate-Guitar.com stood out as an enemy in a community it was doing everything it could to support.
But, like all great heroes, UG stood up for what it believed in (And hired lawyers who got paid good money to stand up for what it believed in as well), and overcame many obstacles in it's quest to be what it is today. Today, Ultimate-Guitar.com stands tall as the definitive source for guitar tablature online. If the song has a guitar in it, you can probably bet your last nickel you will find a tab for it on this website. Not to mention they are the pulse on all of the latest gossip about your favorite artists. This website is an unsung hero in the music community. As a guitar teacher, It is a great place for me to send my students when they need tabs. It's also my one-stop shop for my own tabs, and I have submitted at least 30-40 of my own hand-made tabs to the site as well. Long live Ultimate-Guitar.com.
