~Sci-Fi Sounds~

Science Fiction Surf Rock!

~Audiosurfer~ was originally known as Audiosurf, and was a cover/tribute band to the band known as "Man or Astro-Man?", a science-fiction themed surf rock band from Birmingham, Alabama. Man or Astro-Man? is a high-intensity sonic sound experience unlike any other on the planet. Their songs are very fast, and very weird, like surf meets punk meets garage meets science fiction, with themes like mermaids, monsters, aliens, atoms, and creatures from the surfer's lagoon. They were originally a predominantly surf band, but as the band got older, their sound got weirder and weirder. They were broken up for many years and are now touring again!
AudioSurf was DjChrispy (Chris Phillips) and Astroboy! (Jeff Slater), and was a unit for a little over a year and a half, until Chrispy's amplifier stopped working and Astroboy's drums were tragically destroyed. The time spent as Audiosurf was a productive time, and many decent lower-fi recordings were produced. Sadly, Audiosurf only played one live show before the band split up, but luckily we had friends with us who helped us film the experience. Since then, ampless and drumless, Audiosurf has changed it's name to ~AudioSurfer~ (Due to issues with the video game AudioSurf - See "Cool Websites") and is currently just DjChrispy and his drum loops and guitars. ~AudioSurfer~ the live experience will be something totally different. Chrispy is getting his amplifier repaired and is looking for other musicians to help him bring this project to life.

Here is just some the awesomeness Astroboy! and Chrispy came up with over the years. Many of the tracks we recorded were lost, but here are some of the best.
